Fall in Love with Yourself – Any Day of the Year

7 red roses on flat surface with a handwritten note that says I love you.

Valentine’s Day has come and gone.
The flowers may be fading, the chocolates long gone (or tucked away for later), but love – the real kind – doesn’t belong to just one day.  A self-love guide.

A few years ago, I jotted down a list. Not resolutions or to-dos, but gentle reminders about living with more intention, joy and care. I called it my Love List, and it’s become a guide for nurturing a more compassionate, meaningful relationship with life — and with myself.

So, whether you spent Valentine’s Day in celebration, in reflection, or just as an ordinary day, let this be your reminder that love – especially self-love – is always in season.

The Love List

1. Build a healthy relationship with food.
Forget obsessing over good and bad food rules. Instead, trust the wisdom of whole foods and savour every bite.

2. Love your body before you try to change it.
Your body listens to love better than criticism. Care for it gently and watch how it responds.

3. Moisturize like your life depends on it.
Lotion, oils — the good stuff. Treat your skin like it belongs to someone you adore.

4. Create rituals, not habits.
Rituals are mindful and intentional. Whether it’s a morning coffee ritual or a Sunday self-care routine, they bring presence to your days.

5. Grow something edible.
Herbs count. Nurturing life, no matter how small, is a grounding joy.

6. Get to know your parents as people, not just parents.
Ask about their hopes, their memories. It’s a window to your roots and your growth.

7. Be sensual without being sexual – tactile.
A hand on the back, a warm hug, or simply feeling the sun on your skin — sensuality is connection.

8. Sing without caring what you sound like.
Loudly, joyfully, without shame. Let go and let it out. A great lesson in detachment.

9. Don’t be angry just because it’s expected.
Pause, breathe, and ask yourself how you really feel. Respond from there.

10. Become an expert in something you love.
It doesn’t matter what it is, as long as it lights you up.

Bonus: Invest in yourself.
Book the class, take the trip, choose the experience over the thing. You’re worth it.

Final Thoughts

Love isn’t reserved for February 14th.  It’s in the way you care for yourself daily, the kindness you show your body, the curiosity you bring to life.  So if you didn’t mark Valentine’s Day with grand gestures, don’t worry – love is always here, waiting for you to claim it.

And if you needed a reminder: you are worthy of love, every single day.

I love you.
